🧀 What Makes This Recipe So Good
Hi, hello, my name is Cheryl, and I’m unapologetically obsessed with two things: cookie butter and Boursin. Not like, in the same dish or anything, don’t worry. Creamy, savory, herbaceous Boursin cheese is the star of this easy party dip, and y’all, it. is. SO. GOOD. I pair it with a little sour cream and a little mayo so it’s extra smooth and extra dippable. Trust me, it turns out extra perfect. There’s only 3 ingredients in this Boursin dip, so it’s a great budget-friendly option. Serve it for tailgating, holiday potlucks, parties, baby showers… Really anything where you need to feed a decent number of people without spending a ton of dough. There’s also zero cooking involved. Zero. All you need is a mixer, but even that’s optional if you feel like getting an arm workout in. Boursin dip is a fantastic make-ahead option! I like to recommend chilling the dip at least 30 minutes to give the ingredients a little time to meld. The flavors are so much deeper that way. If you’ve got the time, though, you could make your dip 24-36 hours in advance and refrigerate it until you need it! Just make sure to take it out of the fridge early enough that you can serve it at room temperature – otherwise it can be a little too firm to dip into.
👩🏼‍🍳 Chef’s Tips
You can use any variety of Boursin for this dip. It’s totally up to your preferences and the overall result you’re going for! Garlic & fine herbs is a classic, and that’s what I used here, but their caramelized onion & herbs or their shallot & chive would both be delicious, too. Boursin is a little crumbly all on its own, so the sour cream and mayo are both important if you want the dip to have that smooth, creamy consistency. If you’re looking to swap out those ingredients, try a full cup of plain Greek yogurt instead. It won’t have exactly the same consistency or flavor, but it’ll get the job done and be tasty at the same time! You can also replace just one of them with an equal amount of Greek yogurt (for example, replace the ½ sour cream with ½ cup Greek yogurt, and keep the ½ cup mayo). How do you serve Boursin dip? However you like! You’ll (obviously) need dipping vessels of some sort. I like to use crostini, potato chips, tortilla chips, or buttery crackers for a crunchy, carby option. If you want to include some veggies, go with carrot sticks, celery sticks, broccoli florets, or slivers of bell pepper.
