If this post were a movie… it’d start in the present and flashback to the recipe. The present moment? You’ve just had a sip of this perfect summer cocktail and are ordering fourteen more. And a cab. Please. Or Lyft.. whatever. And please don’t use Facebook after mojito, oh, number two. I first had a blueberry mojito at a swanky bar downtown and was surprised by how well the mint, lime, and blueberries worked together. I’m not typically a rum fan, but I could hardly taste it in the drink, just an understated complexity of flavor that was at the same time simple and satisfying. I knew I had to recreate. But you know when you have such high expectations for something… and you DIY and it’s nothing like you’d dreamed? That did NOT happen here. No, I had a single sip, after clearing my little photo setup, and suddenly became really worried that the photos would be good enough. I knew I absolutely had to share this with you guys! Not only is the recipe incredibly simple, it’s fruity and aromatic, boozy but not “stiff”. Perfect, perfect, perfect for summer. Perfect for entertaining. Vibrant and festive for 4th of July. You’ll looooove this. Promise. Oh, and here’s a little behind-the-scenes video from the shoot I thought I’d share with you guys… glamorous, right? Fake ice and squirt bottles, ohhh yeah.
