I did. If I were a clever blogger, I’d have posted this recipe then. But I’m not. I’m a woops-that-happened blogger who at least comes up with some damn good s’mores. So I figure that makes up for it, right? My ultimate all-time favorite s’mores are certainly my blackberry white chocolate s’mores, because, I mean, come on. They’re perfect! But a close second? These dark chocolate cherry s’mores, layered with fresh cherries and rich, slightly bitter dark chocolate, all pillowed by a gooey, torched marshmallow. Tender, buttered graham crackers are your hedonistic vessels, delivering that rich, perfect combination to your face (emphasis on the ‘face’ part, especially in O’s case.. sorry, honey! Even fancy lawyers and marathon runners have to hear embarrassing stories sometimes). We all know and love the classic pairing of dark chocolate and cherries, and this is s’more is a current, totally down-to-earth iteration of the delectable duo. Make them while cherries are in season! They’d be perfect for a Labor Day dessert, thrown together casually outdoors–little to no prep required. Beautiful, right? And people will love them. They just will. Remember my marshmallow-less s’mores I made for friends? In a thank you note from the birthday girl, she mentioned her husband loved the gourmet s’mores so much, he’d made her make them already! And that was without marshmallows, people. Make these.
