Key Ingredients
Smoked Paprika – Regular paprika will work, but smoked paprika really puts the pork chop seasoning over the top. It gives the dry rub that amazing smoky flavor, without having to fire up the grill.Brown Sugar – I love, love the rich, deep, sweet flavor that brown sugar gives to pork chops. Blended in with all the other spices in the pork chop seasoning, it’s the perfect amount of sweet that won’t overpower the rest of your meal.Cayenne – Just ½ teaspoon, to give it a little kick. If you love cayenne, feel free to dial it up to ¾ or 1 teaspoon. If heat’s not your thing, walk it back to ¼ or ⅛ teaspoon.
Chef’s Tips
When you’re ready to use your pork chop seasoning, you can coat the pork chop lightly with olive oil then add your spice blend. You can also rub the seasoning directly onto every side of the pork, then let it sit at least 10 minutes, to give the meat time to soak up those flavors. Cook as desired!Remember when you’re cooking pork that you want to aim for an internal temperature of 145° Fahrenheit for food safety purposes. Use an internal meat thermometer so you know exactly when it’s ready! The sugar in the pork chop seasoning will give the meat a slight caramelization. Keep an eye on it while you’re cooking to make sure the sugar doesn’t burn!
