Oh, and did I mention that you can make this keto coffee creamer recipe into 5 different flavors?! Whether you prefer yours plain or fancy, I have you covered.
Ingredients & Substitutions
Here I explain the best ingredients for sugar free coffee creamer, what each one does in the recipe, and substitution options. For measurements, see the recipe card.
Sugar-Free Sweetened Condensed Milk – You can’t buy it at the store, but it’s easy to make yourself with just 3 simple ingredients: Butter, heavy whipping cream, and powdered Besti. It acts as the base for the creamer. Unsweetened Almond Milk – This helps to get the keto friendly coffee creamer to just the right consistency. Unsweetened coconut milk beverage would also work for a nut-free option. (Be sure this is the liquid kind in a carton, not the thick kind in a can.) Dairy milk is not keto friendly, so I don’t recommend it. Heavy Cream – This adds rich and creamy flavor, and also helps with consistency, so it’s not too thick. Flavors – You didn’t think I would leave you with just a basic keto coffee creamer, did you? You totally can, but you can also add in flavors like vanilla extract, hazelnut extract, pumpkin puree, and cocoa powder for flavored sugar free coffee creamer. You can also make my sugar free peppermint mocha creamer for the holiday season.
How To Make Keto Coffee Creamer
This section shows how to make sugar free coffee creamer, with step-by-step photos and details about the technique, to help you visualize it. For full instructions with amounts and temperatures, see the recipe card. To make this keto creamer dairy-free and vegan, use full-fat coconut milk (the kind from a can) in place of the heavy cream, including the cream used in the condensed milk and the part that is added later. Omit the butter in the condensed milk, or replace it with ghee if you can tolerate it.
How To Use Keto Creamer For Coffee
This keto creamer recipe is super easy to use — simply add it to black coffee! I recommend starting with 2 tablespoons, and increase to taste as needed. If you reduce the condensed milk too much, add more almond milk and heavy cream at the end to get it to the desired consistency. It will seem thin while warm, but it thickens in the fridge. If you want a collagen boost, add it directly to the creamer while it’s still warm. (I like this brand.) The amount to add is up to you. I’d recommend starting with 3-4 scoops for the batch of keto coffee creamer. You can also add collagen directly to your coffee.
Storage Instructions
Store: Keep in a glass jar or bottle in the refrigerator for up to 7-10 days. Freeze: Pour the low carb coffee creamer into ice cube trays. Once frozen, transfer the cubes to a freezer-safe container or bag and store for up to 3 months. You can thaw in the fridge overnight, or simply add the ice cubes to piping hot coffee and let them melt.
Sugar Free Coffee Creamer To Buy
If you want to skip the prep time altogether, there are lots of keto-friendly coffee creamers — including dairy-free and shelf-stable options:
Heavy Cream – If you want to keep it simple, just add heavy cream to your coffee. You can add Besti Monk Fruit Allulose Blend or sugar-free coffee syrup for sweetness if you like – unlike other keto sweeteners, these dissolve effortlessly! Nutpods – With a squeaky clean list of ingredients, this zero-carb liquid creamer froths up just as well as conventional types. Get them in tasty flavors like French vanilla, caramel and hazelnut! Natural Force Creamer – A sugar free creamer that tastes like half and half, but made with coconuts and MCT oil. Super Coffee Creamer – This low carb coffee creamer is sweetened with monk fruit and has a little extra protein in each serving. Laird Unsweetened Superfood Creamer – Powdered and shelf-stable… and made almost entirely out of coconut! Keto Coffee Creamer Powders – If you’d like to keep a powdered keto coffee creamer, you can simply stir together heavy cream powder or coconut cream powder with Besti Powdered Monk Fruit Allulose Blend to add sweetness. Or, try this one that includes a blend of grass-fed butter and MCT oil.
