You can make it a night before so there is no excuse for skipping breakfast the next morning. Also, it’s so delicious that you won’t be able to resist it.
The oats soak all the milk and become soft and edible. You can flavor overnight oats with different fruits, berries, chocolates, or nuts to create different delicious versions.
Ingredient notes and substitute suggestions
Old-fashioned rolled oats: To make overnight oats use old-fashioned rolled oats. Never use instant oats to make this recipe as they will almost dissolve in the milk if left for a few hours and you won’t get the right texture.Coconut milk/ any milk of your choice: I would recommend using coconut milk as it goes really well with mangoes. The refreshing combination of mango and coconut milk gives it the taste of tropical overnight oats. Mango: Use a sweet variety of mango which is not very fibrous. If mangoes are not in season, canned or frozen mangoes can be used too.Chia seeds: Chia seeds make the oats thick and creamy.Desiccated coconut: You can slightly toast them for more flavor. Freshly grated coconut can also be used.Honey: Feel free to use any sweetener of your choice.
