Hi, my name is Cheryl. C-H-E-R-Y-L. And I have an addiction. Ever since I can remember, I’ve opted for salty snacks over sweet, bashfully eating radioactive orange nachos at the NBA games, always the girl ordering giant dill pickles (do not drain the juice, my friend, DO NOT) at the movies, always eating entire blocks of cheese when I’m nervous… Anyone get the throwback Always Sunny reference or do I just sound super weird right now? Anyone? Just me? Oh, OK.
It’s alright; I’m used to it. My salt addiction runs deep, demarcating me from the other girls in high school who would die without chocolate. Chocolate? Eh, it’s better when coating potato chips or simply serving as the bed for a sprinkle of sea salt. I prefer it in mole with a side of tortilla chips and smoky guajillo salsa. In other words, I can keep candy in my house for weeks on end. Potato chips, on the other hand? In college, I simply couldn’t keep potato chips in the apartment. I’d coyly open a [family-size] bag after class and end up with my fingertips brushing the bottom of the aluminum packet in the blink of an eye. Huh? What happened? I… my roommate must have eaten all of those… pretty sure.
So imagine how a) perfect for me a paleo diet is (The nutritional approach my soul [and body] loves), and b) freaking excited I was when Kettle Brand® Potato Chips came out with a way to snack better – avocado oil potato chips. They taste amazing – just like regular potato chips – and they’re so versatile, too. They’re kind of my new obsession for summer entertaining, since there’s nothing “paleo” about them… or about this dip, for that matter. Translation? Something for everyone. ? for that! Oh, but you could totally rock this dip on a Whole30, too. Swap the chips for slices of cucumber or carrots? Dang, mama. So, with Kettle Brand Avocado Oil Potato Chips in hand, it was time to recreate one of my very favorite potato chip dips: French onion dip. Creamy, cool, and full of caramelized onion flavor, it’s absolutely perfect for summer entertaining slash grilling slash breakfast. What? No shame!
I picked up a couple bags of the Kettle Brand Avocado Oil Himalayan Salt Potato Chips and the Kettle Brand Avocado Oil Chili Lime Potato Chips, too. Kettle Brand is the only time I’ll eat a non-plain chip, because their flavors are so funky and delicious, and the Chili Lime is absolutely no exception. There’s citrus-infused sea salt, you guys. CITRUS INFUSED SEA SALT. This is not a drill!
They’re usually in the natural foods section with the rest of the chips and snacks, but I’ve seen them in the regular chip aisle, too.
After that? You basically soak some cashews, blend a few things, and stir. Easy peasy nice and savory, cool, and creamy. That’s how the saying goes, right? Well, it does now, because y’all, this paleo French onion dip is my life. Kettle Brand Avocado Oil chips let us snack better together and share the love this summer by making it easy to entertain and offer something for everyone! With their high-quality ingredients, I feel great about serving these chips alongside this paleo French onion dip to my friends and fam. ❤️ And then there’s this… A Snack Better Together sweepstakes coming May 30! Share the love with better ingredients this summer and share a photo of your snacking moment. You can win a $10,000 cash prize for a family vacation of your choosing, but I’m keeping that one for myself… Just kidding! But really, if I were enter, I’d submit this photo. Doesn’t this just scream summertime snacking?
