Maca is one of those healthy foods that I’m hooked on for taste alone. I’ve said before that I don’t really believe in superfoods, at least as most people understand them, but I do believe in healthy foods. I’m glad this stuff is healthy, because it’s delicious. It has a slightly sweet, malty, butterscotchy flavor, hence the title of the post. It goes awesome with banana and peanut butter, so I went and thew both of those things in here. This is one of those smoothies that tastes like a milkshake to me, but is, quite amazingly, void of dairy or refined sugar. Maca’s apparent health benefits include being an energizer and hormonal balancer. I won’t go on much about that though, as this blog is about recipes and you can get your nutritional advice elsewhere. Suffice it to say this is healthy and tasty. Enjoy!
