Sea Salt – This blend has just the right amount to end up with 1 teaspoon of salt per pound of pork chops. This is the ratio I learned from Julia Child and it works for virtually all meats. Garlic Powder – You could also add a teaspoon of onion powder in addition to this. Smoked Paprika – Or regular paprika works great as well. Dried Herbs – Dried thyme and dried oregano. Black Pepper – Feel free to swap in white pepper instead. Cayenne Pepper – You could also use chili powder, which would be less spicy.

Seasoning for pork chops can be salt-free or contain salt. This recipe does contain salt. If you’re watching your salt intake, you could reduce the amount of salt in the seasoning. Is pork seasoning sugar-free? Many pork chop seasonings do contain brown sugar. This version does not have any. If you prefer your pork rub recipe sweet, add in 2 tablespoons of brown sugar. If you want sweetness without the sugar, use my natural brown sugar substitute.
